Both St Mary’s, Gainford and St Andrew’s, Winston are updating their Electoral Roll, and we would love for you to be part of it. If you consider yourself connected to our church community—whether you attend regularly or simply value having a local parish church—you can help strengthen our churches by adding your name.

What Is the Electoral Roll?

The Electoral Roll is a list of people who consider themselves members of the church. It’s not about membership fees or obligations; rather, it’s a way of formally recognising those who care about their local church and want to be counted as part of its congregation.

A larger Electoral Roll helps in several ways:

• It gives us a stronger voice within the wider Church of England, showing that our churches are active, valued, and well-supported.
• It allows those on the roll to vote in Annual Parish Meetings, helping to shape the future of our church community.
• It strengthens our position when applying for support, funding, or grants, ensuring our churches remain vibrant places of worship and community life.

Who Can Join?

Anyone over 16 years old who is baptised and either lives in the parish or has regularly attended services is eligible to join.  If you have been baptised in an Church of England church then you are eligible. You do not have to be confirmed or attend every Sunday—if you feel a connection to St Mary’s or St Andrew’s, we’d love for you to sign up! 

How to Register

It’s quick and easy to add your name. Simply:

2. Complete it and return it via email to info@gainfordwinston.church.
3. Alternatively, you can hand your completed form to your local church wardens—Geoff and Sue in Gainford, or Lynne in Winston.
