After the funeral

It’s important to remember that immediately after the funeral you may be with friends and family, however in the days and weeks afterwards the Church is there for you.   Do not hesitate in reaching out and getting in touch if you are finding this time particularly difficult, it is a normal part of the bereavement process and you do not need to be alone during this difficult time.

If someone you know or love has died, or died within the next few days, of whatever cause, a small funeral led by our parish priest can still be held in the church, in a churchyard, by a grave or in a crematorium.

Who do I contact to arrange a funeral service?

At this incredibly personal time, we are here to guide you at every stage.

Your Funeral Director will put you in contact with Rev’d Eillen Harrop.  However, please contact us (here) if you would like one of our Church wardens to contact you directly. You may also take comfort from looking at Funerals | The Church of England for guidance.

I’m not able to attend the funeral

It is extremely difficult if you cannot attend and we understand how stressful this can be.  The Church of England has a selection of resources which can help you with this.

Please do not hesitate in contacting the Church and we may be able to privately Livestream the service so those who are not able to attend in person are able to take part.
