Look out for our Creation Walk

Creation Walk

Our new pilgrimage initiative

look for our painted creation stones all around our riverbanks

During the season of ‘Creationtide’ it was decided to make a Creation Walk which linked our two churches through the beautiful riverside path along the Teesdale Way.

The path would be furnished with a series of painted stones, willow stars, painted wooded discs and carved toadstools to encourage all of us to take a walk out into God’s Creation and enjoy finding these little markers along the way.

When you find these markers please do feel free to move them to another part of the Creation Walk (remember to keep them visible!) and we would be appreciative if they were not taken home, even if we admit some of them are very pretty indeed!

Our Pilgrimage programme isn’t just for adults of course and we hope that people of all ages enjoyed finding them, spending time in natural spaces and explore.

We are hoping to add to the walk over Advent so if you any pictures of your finds in situ along the route, or would like to be involved in helping to keep this Creation Walk between our Parish Churches updated throughout the seasons, please get in touch with us at info@gainfordwinston.church or post your pictures on our Facebook page.  We’d love to see them!

Thank you to Pamela from Gainford and Paula from Winston for making this happen.
