On Palm Sunday, St Mary’s Church introduced ‘Messy Church’ to the village. ‘Messy Church’ is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality.
We had two hours of music, crafts, worship and a finale of food! Families celebrated Holy Week and the gift of Easter with children ranging in age between 10 to very nearly two, participating in all activities together. Everyone collaborated to create the Easter Garden around the font, working together to build crosses on a hill and the tomb.
Ava enjoyed all the crafts, especially creating a donkey hobby horse and galloping around the aisles whilst we sang, as well as Jim and Jen’s homemade bread bun sandwiches! Thea loved singing, especially ‘Hosanna Rock’, which involved air guitar and a prize for the best dancer! Everyone was so enthusiastic!
We look forward to celebration and creativity again on Sunday 15th May 3.30-5.30pm and welcome families to come and join in the fun. Everyone is welcome!
