Time to Celebrate The Platinum Jubilee!

Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations are a time for all of us to come together and rightly support her fantastic contributions made to our country.  As part of the Platinum Jubilee Buckingham Palace are keen to highlight those who are servants for their communities with their ‘Acts of Service’ national initiative.  HRH The Queen has consistently been a self-styled ‘Servant Queen’ and this initiave is to extend those values around the country.

Gainford and Winston are no different in this respect and we have invited members of our communities to contribute a series of  articles to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee which share this theme.  From nurses to rescuers, to carers, to servicemen, to nurses – many of us may be responsible for these Acts of Service as part of our vocation or it may be something we volunteer to do – and these stories we feel need telling to both celebrate those who currently do this, and to inspire the next generation to continue in their footsteps.

Many thanks to everyone who felt they wanted to share their story with their communities and if you’re feeling suitably inspired after reading some of these articles and thinking how you can help – our ’70 Acts of Service’ article may give you some ideas – if you’d prefer you can get in touch with us directly to see how you can join one of our community projects.
